In the American revolution, several men and women made great sacrifices for the liberty of the thirteen American colonies from British tyranny. Men and women of different walks of life gave their contributions in the forms of literature, propositions, and even their lives. One of these men was Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin’s life was intertwined with that of America’s life. The more notable of his works is his printed items such as â€Å"Join or die†, The Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, and â€Å"Magnus Britannia†. Benjamin was the catalyst for the American revolution through his printing business and ventures. Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 17, 1706. Benjamin Franklin was the son of Josiah Franklin and Abiah Folger. Ben was the youngest son his of family of 17 children. Although it is not explicitly stated, Josiah Franklin had married another woman before Abiah who bore 7 children . Benjamin Franklin’s family was a devout christian family that seeked to further Ben’s studies, but in the christian faith. Ben was sent to study under the hand of the Cotton Mather, a puritan that seeked nothing, but â€Å"To not leave a place without leaving doing something good†.
